East Pacific Basin Remains Relatively Quiet
Last Update: 24-JUL-2009 06:32am EDT
We continue to observe several areas of showers and thunderstorms across the East Pacific Basin. However, no tropical development is expected through at least Sunday.
Tropical waves along 95 west, along 105 west and along 135 west remain disorganized at this time. We see no signs of any low-level features, and upper-level support for development should remain poor through at least Sunday. http://hurricane.accuweather.com/hurricane/basin-story.asp?partner=netweather&traveler=0&basin=epacific

AUTUMN EVENING IN THE MOUNTAINS
After the rain
that covered these mountains
the night of air
smells of fall
the moon gleams
among long-needled pines
rushing softly across its rocks
the creek
glitters
bring their laundry home
through the bamboos
women chatter
a fisherman poles his boat
through the heavy lotus leaves
swaying
the spring flowers
and their heavy odors
are gone
stick around anyway
old friend
for the beauty of fall
