WASHINGTON AND OREGON WATERS...HIGH PRES WILL CONTINUE TO BUILD JUST TO THE W OF THE WATERS TODAY AND MON. THE HIGH WILL DRIFT SW AND GRADUALLY WEAKEN THROUGH WED...THEN STRENGTHEN AND LIFT NE THU AND FRI.

AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE ACROSS WESTERN CANADA TODAY TEMPORARILY FLATTENING THE UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OVER THE AREA. THE UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL REBOUND AGAIN TOMORROW AND PERSIST OVER THE AREA THROUGH MID-WEEK FOR A FEW MORE DAYS OF ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES.

THE THERMAL TROUGH STRENGTHENS ALONG THE SOUTH OREGON COAST...SMALL CRAFT WINDS EXPECTED AGAIN IN THE AFTERNOON AND SHOULD CONTINUE WELL INTO THE NIGHT. SMALL CRAFT WINDS MAY PERSIST INTO MONDAY BUT SHOULD DROP OFF TUESDAY AS GRADIENTS WEAKEN. SEAS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN WELL BELOW 10 FT THROUGH MID WEEK.

Remaining Quiet
Though there are several areas of showers and thunderstorms in the Pacific Basin, no significant development is expected into midweek.
A tropical wave is along 112 west, south of 10 north moving west at about 6 degrees longitude per day. This wave has maintained moderate convection over the past 12 hours, but has yet to show signs of circulation. A second tropical wave is found near 132 west between 5 north and 15 north. Convection has weakened with this wave over the past 12 hours and is encountering some drier air to its west. As the wave moves west it will also encounter cooler water temperatures the next few days and is not expected to develop. Both waves are moving west at about 6 degrees longitude per day.

A CLEAR WET DAWN

Cool fields
the thin rain
stops

spring in every direction

blue pond
swarms with fish

thrushes sing
in the green bushes

flowers look tear-streaked

grass in high meadows
bends level

through the bamboo
in the still stream
you can see
the last shreds of cloud
scattering
in the dawn wind
